•> Cf'RISSS ASSOCIATION TXLEC&AXS.) WELLINGTON. July 10. Hugh Majne, aged fifty-eight, charged with assault causing bodily harm to Walter Green, was fined £lO half to go to Green. Mayne and another lodger, both very drunk, were locked out by their landlady, who appealed to Green, a neighbour. He opened the door and Mayne rushed him and stabbed him in the leg with a pocket-knife. The Magistrate (Mr Page) said that Mayne's drunkenness was a voluntary act. Therefore, he was responsible for his actions while drunk.
