The sixteenth annual meeting of the Dominion Bowling Council opened tail morning, the pait president, Mr Btone, Introducing the new president, Mr C, J. Bayne. The report showed that the number ot clubs on the register was 314. and that the membership was 16,086, an increase of 42 on the previous year. The total increase for the past four years was 992. Members of the conncil resident in Dunedin were appointed an executive for the year. The membership levy was fixed at sixpence a member. It was decided that it be recommended that there should be a tightening up of the granting of permits to centres which intend holding tournaments about the time of the Dominion tournament. It was decided that the Dominion tournament be started on Monday, and that tbe order of play be singles first, pairs second, and rinks last. The tournament will now start on January 13th. The singles will be played on the automatic two-life principle, and the pairs and rinks on the sectional system. It was decided that the next series of matches with Australia would take place in Australia at the Australian Bowling Carnival, following one fixed to take place in Tasmania, and that the number of rinks to participate be decided by the visiting country, but that such number be not less than four or more than sir. It was decided that the next matches in New Zealand be played in Dnnedin before the Dominion tournament ia 1934. - The matter of adopting a uniform seerine board was left to the executive. An invitation was received to attend the Centennial Carnival of the Western Australian Association, and it waa decided to notify centre* accordingly. An Auckland remit urging the establishment of a benevolent fund for the relief of bowlers" widows and orphans and aged bowlers waa lost. It was decided to notify the Australian Conncil that New Zealand considered that each country should have equal representation on the International Board. THE SUVA CARNIVAL.
