"THE PRESS" RELIEF FUND.

AN APPEAL TO OUR READERS.

It is extremely gratifying to be able to announce after so short a period that The Prm3 relief fund h*s already reached £3948. So striking a proof of the loyalty and generosity of our readers will perhaps make it appear that no further appeal is necessary. It would certainly not be necessary to ask our readers to keep on Riving if nothii'-c had happened to suggest that assistance may no longer be necessary. It has, however, seemed to some people that the setting up ot a Central Committee by the Government takes relief measures out of private hands, and wo would point out that this is bv no means the case. Everything that our readers can afford to give is still urgently required. The following subscriptions are acknowledged: * s. d.
