THE PRESS" RELIEF FUND.

AN APPEAL TO OUR READERS. It is extremely gratifying to b* able to announce after so abort a period that The Prim relief fund has already reached £3& al~ fc>o striking a proof of the loyalty and generosity of our reader* will perhaps make it appear that no farther appeal is necessary. It would certainly not be necessary to ask our readers to keep on Riving if nothing had happened to suggest that assistance may no longer be necessary. It has. however, seemed to some people that the setting up ol a Central Committee by the Government take# relief measures out of private hands, and wo would point out that this t» bv no means the case. Everything that our reader* can afford to give is still urgently required. The following subscriptions are acknowledged: — i s. d.
