The greatest tragedy in the history of Ruling (Kiangsi Province) occurred yesterday, when a large Chinese hotel collapsed on the mountainside, following continued heavy downpours of rain, burying 33 Chinese in the ruins. Five women and three men were extricated. They were severely injured. The others were all beyond human aid. The hotel was of three storeys, built on the mountainside.
