RIFLE SHOOTING.

CHRISTCHURCH ASSOCIATION. The Chvistchurch Miniature Bine Association fired its 17th annual championship at the Association rifle range on Saturday, and a great number of shooters from all parts of Canterbury were present. The president (Mr W. S. Wharton) welcomed all riflemen and wished them good luck. Thirty-three teams competed for the teams* championsnip and about 200 men shot during the day for other events. Up till 9 o'clock shooting was very even. Dave Barr, of Cashmere, put on a beautiful possible and carried on and finished with 20 consecutive bull's-eyes—a great performance. Officials are to be congratulated, as the meeting was a great success. Range officers were as follows:—Target judges, Messrs R. Neill, S. Stephens, F. Lightfoot; target stewards, Messrs S.
