SHIPPING NOTES.

The motor-ship Brand was an arrival yesterday from Wellington. She has a part of hardwood from Banbury for discharge. The Himatanji arrived yesterday from Wellington. She loads here to-day for Wanganui and Foxton. The WaipiaU was an arriral on Saturday from Timaru to take in further cargo for Auckland. She is to sail this afternoon, via Wellington. The Progress is now due on Wednesday from Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru to load for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Calm ia eipected to-morrow from Wanganui and Wellington, and sails in the afternoon with cargo for Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru. The Gale should arrive to-morrow from Dunedin and Timaru to load for Wellington, Ficton, and Wanganui. The Wtngatui should arrive to-morrow from Auckland and Wellington. She is to sail to-morrow night for Dunedin and Timaru. The Corinna ia timed to load here to-mor-row for Nelson and Hew Plymouth. Sho sails via Wellington. The Cygnet should arrive at Lyttelton tomorrow night from Kaikoura and Wellington. She loads here on Wednesday for the return trip. The Golden West is due at Lyttelton about the end of this week from Wellington to complete discharge) at her cargo from Los Angeles. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner lonic arrived at Auckland on Saturday morning from London and Southampton. The Surrey is now due at Lyttelton on July 18th from Timaru for further loading. From this port she proceeds to Picton end Wellington, and is to sail from Wellington on July 24th for London, via Panama. The Northumberland ia due at Auckland on July 17th from Liverpool. She will also discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and New Plymouth. The Hertford sailed from Liverpool on June 23rd for Auckland, Hawke'e Bay, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Timaru. She is due at Auckland on August ißt. The Suahine is due at Auckland on July 19th from London and Southampton. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Tamaroa is due at Wellington on July 23rd from London and Southampton to disembark passengers. She is to sail the same day for Lyttelton, where she will disembark the remainder of her passengers and commence discharge. The Makura. which entered the Vancouver service recently, is in command of Captain J. F. S. Brown. His deck officers are: — Chief, Mr A. Russell; second, Mr F. W. Young; third, Mr L. B.
