♦ DAMAGE IN HARDWARE STORE. (FMSS ASSOCIATION TEUGSAH.) WELLINGTON, July 7. An outbreak of fire in the buildings of A.- and T. Burt, Ltd., hardware dealers, C'oiirtenay place, on Saturday night; caused considerable damage before the brigade succeeded in gaining control. The fire already had a good hold when the alarm was given at 6.40 P-m. A very large crowd soon assembled to watch the operations of the brigade, which brought eight machines, into use. The building is of brick, with an iron roof, and two floors. The fire, which evidently started in the packinp room, was at Its worst at the rear of the building.
