FORCED TO TURN BACK.

He fitted a new propeller on his 'plane, ignored warnings, and resumed bis Atlantic flight, but was forced to return in three hours owing to his inability to penetrate the thick weather. A later message indicates that he set out again and was forced to return, the load of fuel apparently being too heavy.—Australian Press Association. Objection to the valuation of three sections at Harbour View road and Military road, Karori district, at £235 was made in the Wellington Assessment Court this week. Counsel, under Section 45 of the Valuation of Land Act. offered the three sections to the Crown at £lO each. It was explained by the Valuation Department's representative that these sections had been offered to the Government bv the owner before. The president (Mr J. G. Hewitt K.M.I said that the owner should offer them to the public at that price. Addressing counsel, he said : "You tell th" owner that vou have client*, who will buv the sections at the price he i* offering them to the Crown We (the president and assessors of .the CourU will buy them."
