During an interval, the president of the New Zealand Whippet Racing Club, Mr J. R. D. Johnß, farewelled Mr J. J. Dougall, who is leaving for an extended tour of Great Britain, Europe, America. In presenting Mr Dougall with a case of pines, Mr Johns wished him a very pleasant holiday and a safe return to the Dominion. Mr C. W. H-rvey and- Mr H, J. Otlsy briefly endorsed the remarks of the president. In responding, Mr Done-all thanked the members of the club for their preaent mud said that, although he was not actively engaged in the racing, he was very keenly ia» in the sport. Whilst on his voyage he would think of the many plea»ant meetings he had been present at and honed that, whpst he was a.way, he might be able to witness some whippet meetings in the Old Country.
