CHURCH ANNIVERSARY.
*> DURHAM STREET METHODIST. Three-quarters of a century of work is behind the Durham street Methodist' Church, which yesterday celebrated its nominal <sta anniversary. It is 65 yean since the present flue church was completed, but the con gregation had been well established a decade before that date. There were large congregations at both services yesterday. In the morning the Rev. J. Robertson, of the Oxford terrace Baptist Church, was the preacher, his theme being "The Fatherhood of God." In the evening the Rev. W. T. might .hose «s his anniversary message "The Church and Forgiveness." Special music included a solo by Madame GowerBurns, "Hear Te, Israel" (Elijah), and a duet by Madame Gower-Burns end Mrs Ernest firth. "Qui« est Homof" from "Stabat Mster." The organist was Mr Ernest Firth. F.R.C.O.
