FARMERS' TRAINS.
MARLBOROUGH-NELSON EXCURSION. Two hundred Canterbury farmers will start off by the Parnassus train this morning at 7.55 for an eight days' trip through the provinces of Marlborough and Nelson. The 200 will include a number of wives of excursionists. There was quite a late rush of applicant* for berths on the trip, and a proportion of these could have been accommodated had they applied a few days earlier, but motor transport between the railheads at Par' -us and Wharanui for such a big p y had to be arranged some time in advance. This necessity has caused disappointment amongst a number of late applicants. To-morrow, Thursday, and Friday will be devoted to an inspection of the many attractions, farming and scenic, of the Marlborough province. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will be similarly devoted to Nelson, and on Tuesday the partjr leaves for home via the Nelson-Murchison-Inangahua-Otira-■Springneld route. Marlborough and Nelson fanners have arranged a complete programme of sight-seeing, and the excursionists will be enabled to view many attractions outside the range of ordinary tourists. The Railway Department's representative is accompanying the excursion to attend to detail matters and assist in th* provision of accommodation.
