Harding, the referee of the Celtic-Pareora third grade match on April 37th, wrote stating that during the second spoil members of the Pareora team had' given trouble. His decisions had been questioned on practically every occasion, and many had been accepted with bad grace. Two players were warned for playing tlie man instead of the ball, and at the end of the gamo the writer had been hooted by the Pareora team. Some of the Pareora supporters were also most abusive, joining in the hooting. It was decided that a copy of Mr Harding's letter be forwarded to the Pareora Club asking for an. explanation of the team's conduct. It was also decided that a line umpire in the fourth grade match, Star v. Temuka, who was alleged to have used insulting language, be asked to appear before the Union at the next meeting. The Temuka team was also asked to give an explanation of their conduct towards the referee during this match. The South Canterbury School Sports Association was granted the use of Fraser Park on Thursday afternoons. In connexion with the visit of a New Zealand team to Australia this season, it was decided to support the Canterbury Rugby Union's remit to the New Zealand Union that the date be put back one month. It was also decided to support Canterbury in its appeal to the New Zealand Union to have the frequency of the exchange of visits between New Zealand and New South Wales curtailed. On the motion of Mr D. O'Connor, a resolution waß carried recommending the New Zealand Union that in future all matches played in New Zealand be played -under the rules of the International Board, this motion to be moved. as an amendment to the South Canterbury Union's motion: "That in view of the forthcoming visit of the British team, all matches during the 1929-30 seasons be played under the rules laid down by the International Board." The Union decided to oppose the Otago Union's remit in regard to rule 14, dealing with the voting power of Unions. The draw for Saturday's matches is as follows: — Senior—Star t.
