"SOFT LIVING."
STRAND THEATRE. "Soft Living," starring Madge Bellamy, and "The Marriage Business," with E.telle Btody in the title role, are showing at the Strand Theatre this week. "So/t Living" shows Madge Bellamy as a competent secretary to a celebrated attorney in a largo city. Her employer is well known for the largo alimony cheques he secures for his women clients. Ae a result, Madge becomes disgusted with men in general. One of the attorney's best cacnls, named Mary Duncan, fiually persuades Madge that she too, should oiijoy the luxuries that could easily be her lot. Following her advice, Madge marries a young timoer magnate, who, despit© his rural ways, haa plenty of money, but he finds out her game and decides to outwit her. Consequently she is forced to settle down to her duties as wife instead of enjoying the bright spots of the big cities. Finally Madge appeals to her friend to help her, but instead she finds Miss Duncan wants Brown for herself. It is then that Madge finds out her love for him, and confesses that she nu just a bluff. Brown take, her confession with forgiveness and •Suction.
The second picture deals with that everburning question, the rights of wives. A scone, topical, and a comedy complete the offering.
