BIGGER PROFITS FROM WHEAT GROWING Every year sees the prospects for the wheat grower improving, and in bringing about this satisfactory state of affairs, great importance must be given to the part played by Superphosphates in producing those extra bushels of grain from each acre which, with a crop of any reasonable size, quickly amount to hundreds of pounds extra profit, over and above that which would have been made had no Superphosphate been used. INCREASED YIELDS ASSURED WITH SUPERPHOSPHATE Six years' official tests have definitely placed the great value of Superphosphate to the wheat grower beyond conjecture, and established the supreme importance of drilling in Superphosphate with the seed if maximum returns are to be obtained. While the six years' exhaustive testing on various soils throughout Canterbury have produced varied increases in yield that ranged as high as over 13J bushels per acre, as a result of Superphosphate, the average increase exceeded 5 bushels per acre, and returned a profit of over 400 per cent, on the cost of the "Rockland" Superphosphate which was used. GOOD EFFECT OF SUPERPHOSPHATE ON MATURING CROPS The good effect of Superphosphate on the general growth of the crop has also been conclusively proved. Not only does Superphosphate promote tillering and growth in the Spring, but it assists maturing; a crop manured with "Rockland" Superphosphate | frequently maturing two to five days sooner than one in the same soil whirh has not had the benefit of Superphosphate. Experience, gained from the j close-watched tests of the past six years, has shown that rapid Spring growth and early ripening are almo-rt infallible indications of increased yield, and the more marked these features are. the greater the increase. Furthermore, all evidence to date indicates that Superphosphate-grown wheat has a heavier grain than wheat not manured. THE ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF SUPERPHOSPHATE IN WHEAT GROWING When the costs and labour involved in wheat growing are properly reviewed, the economic importance of "Rockland" Superphosphate becomes most significant. The use of Superphosphate entails practically no expense beyond that of the cost of the manure. Whether Superphosphate is used or not, the cost of ploughing and tilling the land remains the same, the cost of seed is the same, and the rent or interest involved while the land is in wheat also remains the same. Thus it will be readily seen that the extra bushels of wheat produced by Superphosphate are all clear profit. How much this amounts to in a season can be easily worked out by multiplying the increase per acre by the number of acres sown and the market price of wheat. An increase of over 13i bushels an acre is at times secured by "ROCKLAND" Superphosphate. EXTRA BUSHELS of wheat are EXTRA PROFITS. The cost of land, I <" "*>*' ""* c seed wheat, and I acre. labour is constant. ■ The slight cost of "Rockland" Superphosphate will return hundreds per cent, of profit. OFFICIAL TESTS over six years on all classes of soil and under all conditions show an average increase of over five bushels of wheat per acre. Of all Phosphatic Manures officially tested by the Fields Division of the Department of Agriculture, the biggest increase was given by Superphosphate. Use 'Rockland* -the best. "Rockland" Superphosphate grows a stronger, healthier crop, with greater resistance to adverse conditions and disease. Adequate use of "Rockland" Superphosphate when sowing gives Wheat Growers the greatest insurance for sure and ample profits. Wheat grown with "Kockland" Superphosphate has a larger, heavier grain than wheat not manured. <2^m*2Zm Sow a sufficiency of Superphosphate with the seed when drill- ' ingr— for best results use at least 2 cwt. of "Rockland" per acre. Handsome profits from wheat are obtained with "Rockland" Superphosphate from land that otherwise gre-ar crops previously less profitable. A %Z iHHI Wa \ * A.
