General Booth, in a letter to the King, savs:—"The conferment of the Companionship of Honour will afford great pleasure to our people and friends throughout the Empire and elsewhere. My only regret is my inability, owing to illness, actively to participate in work which has »een mv ioy for half a century, and to which, if it is God's will, I shall devote the remainder of my life.
