TO ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received May 3rd, 10.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 3. A gift of £IO,OOO by Mr Maeßobertson, the well-known confectionery manufacturer, towards the forthcoming Antarctic expedition, has solved the major difficulties. It is described as a most opportune gift. The official title of the expedition will be the "British, Australian and New Zealand" Antarctic Expedition." It ia definitely arranged that the Discovery will be loaned by the British Government and will sail from + Cape Town for the Antarctic.--Australian Press Association.
