INVERCARGILL, March 16
Aa a sequel to the death of Edward Williams through a collision between a motor-cycle and a taxi. Patrick John Duggan, driver of the taxi, was charged negligent driving. The Magistrate (Mr Hearth) held that, though defendant had committed a breach of the by-laws in turning at the wrong point, there was no evidence of negligence. Duggan crowed carefully and the cycle hit him from behind. He dismasted the charge.
