Harbour Light Theatre. "The Big Parade," starring John Gilbert, Renee Adoree, and Karl Dane, is proving a strong attraction at the Harbour Light Theatre. To-morrow and Monday Norman Kerry and Pauline Starke will appear in "Man, Woman, and Wife," a striking dramatic feature, and another big film will be "On Ze Boulevarde," a brilliant French farce, starring Renee Adoree and Lew Cody. A gazette and comedy will be shown in' support. Outstanding Bates. Ten per cent, will be added to all unpaid rates after to-day. licensing Committee. An election for the licensing district of Lyttelton will be held on March 12th, if a poll is necessary. Nominations of candidates will be received up to noon on February 27th. M.T7.L0.0.F. At the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Kaia Toa Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., N.G. Sister Mabel Nystram presided over a good attendance of Sisters. Two new candidates were initiated into the order, and one member was declared on the funds of the Lodge. After business was concluded a friendly debate on the subject, "Is town preferable to live in to the country!" was held and was keenly contested, both sides presenting some very forceful arguments for their cause. R-A.0.8. The annual picnic of the Lyttelton branch of the Boyal Antideluvian Order of Buffaloes will be held at Puraa on Sunday. Special launches will leave Lyttelton at 9 a.m. and 10.20 a.m. Hot water, milk, and tea provided free. PersonaL The Rev. B. Dudley left for Auckland last evening, where he will attend the Methodist Conference. School Picnic. The West Lyttelton school picnic was held at the Riccarton racecourse in excellent weather. About 250 pupils, parents, and friends left by the 9.20 a.m. train and returned by tha 6.35 p.m. train.
