BOY SCOUTS.
; DEVELOPMENT AT THE BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL. Ah important development in connexion with the Boy Scout movement in Christehurch. and district will take place in the near future. ' This is the formation at the Cliristcliurch Boys' High School of a complete troop of probationary assistant scoutmasters, the object being to form the nucleus of a body from which will be obtained a supply of Scout officers for the town troops in the future. Mr G. Lancaster, the headmaster and a former District Commissioner, is encouraging the scheme in every way, and he hopes that when a sufficient number of officers and patrol leaders have been trained that it may bo possible to form several troops in the school. Sir Lancaster has decided to place scouting on a level with cricket and other games in the school sports activities. M iss Nancy Wilson, of Bulls, A kola Leader of the Wolf Cubs of the Dominion, is 011 a visit to Christehurch. On Tuesday Miss Wilson visited the Christehurch Wolf Cubs' camp _at Rangiora and distributed the prizes after the sports meeting. She hopes to visit the camp at Sandwell. New Brighton and see something of other Wolf Cubs' activity in the district. About one hundred Boy Scouts, comprising the St. Mark's Troop, Opawa, under Mr Lewis, the Soreydon Troop, uuder Scoutmaster Sloan, and the Trinity Pack of Wolf Cubs, will be undergoing training at the Sandwell camp, Xew Brighton, under Assistant Commissioner Cecil- • Lee until Saturday. Much assistance has been given in matters relating to the camp bv six bovs from the Christehurch Boys' High School, and their services have proved invaluable.
