News comes from Paris of a new kind of ship of the desert which has betn designed to take the place of jhc patient camel. It is practically a Nile steamer on wheels. The wheels are to be nearly 50ft high, with cogs to grip the sand, and the steamer, which will have four decks, will be 150 ft long, 30ft broad, and 42ft high. It will carry 150 passengers and 200 tons of goods.
