THEATRE "BLACK."
ACTION BY MUSICIANS. (L'KITBD PBESS ASSOCIATION—BY BLICTEIO TELEGBAPH—COPTBIOHT.) HOBAET, December 28. The Musicians' Union has declared < ; black" the Theatre Eoyal, where a play headed by Muriel Starr is running, because the management installed an automatic gramophone in place of the orchestra. The theatre employees have ceased work, and pickets endeavoured to dissuade the public from patronising the show, which, however, continues with volunteer attendants and scene shifters. The strikers are chagrined by the public's full-house support of "tinned" music.—Australian Press Association.
