•France's Missing Soldiers. Paris, December 27.—A Bill is being introduced into the Chamber of Deputies presuming that 400,000 of the wartime missing are dead, and also providing that in future warß those missing for two years shall legally be regarded as dead, and their wives shall be eligible to re-marry. —Australian Press Association. Unemployment in Britain. London, December 27.—The of Labour announces that on December 17th the total number of unemployed was 1,271,110. This was 46,812 less than for the week before, but 171,048 more than a year ago. A decrease in unemployment is generally expected about Christmas time. ■
