SCHOOL PICNIC.
DARFIELD-WHITECLIFFS. The annual picnic of the Darfield-White-ollffs Combined Schools was held at Timaru on Saturday. The 632 excursionists, who set off on a showery and uninviting morning, were rewarded by a fine day at Timaru, and the outing was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Timaru was reached on schedule time at 10.23 a.m., and the return journiy was commenced at-4.46 p.m. A sports programme was carried • out on the beach, and ,the results ocere as follows:- — . • Boys, 14 to 15 years—Fred Mitchell 1, Bill Workman 2. .
