** IMPROVEMENT " SCHEME, THE INJUNCTION PROCEEDINGS, It was hoped, originally that the hear, jng by the Supreme Court of the application for &n injunction to restrain the pity Council from proceeding with its scheme for the "improvement" of Cathedral square would liavo been jieard before Christmas. So far it has not been possible to arrange for the matter to come before the Court, the civil list having bee" gone through and dates allotted some time before the writ for the injunction was issued. It is now fairly certain that the 'ffiU not, come before the Court till the New Year.
