WOMAN'S FALSE PRETENCES. (UHITBD rBESS KMCTKIC TELKGBATH —COPYBIOHT.) LONDON, November 28. Mrs Margaret Olive Johnson was sentenced to a year's hard labour. She had 18 previous convictions for a pretences—Australian Press Association. _ [Mrs Johnson stated that she Was to inherit a fortune of £14,00U from a relative in Australia. &ne ordered a luxurious motor-car, engaged a chauffeur, and commissioned _ a tirm to construct four houses, one of wmcu she placed at the disposal of the balvation Army, of which she was £ member. It was alleged that she obtained advances of money to carry on un her inheritance arrived. She was arrested at Inverness, Scotland.]
