Notifications yesterday totalled ■ There' were i in the Metropolitan area —iii the City, 2, one - Qficli at Pachmond and Sydenham, and- in the lieathcote County, 2.. The. three cases ; outside the Metropolitan, "area were: ;Ellesmere County, 1;. • Springs County 1; and Kaiapoi Borough 1. The Medical Officer of Health (Dr. T. Fletcher Telford) said yesterday- that there had been several "return" cases reported. These arc not cases of _ relapse, : but cases 'in which . a patient left .the infectious., diseases hospitalapparently well, and-returned to his or her liome and then, within a period of 28 days following, another member of the family contracted the disease.; It-is still' being found''that the majority ; of cases of. infection are of persons under 10 years of age
