J DUNBDIN, November 23. Summer conditions in the realm of coal mining are by no means conducive to a sound labour market, and for this, reason there is some distress being felt among the workers at Kaitangata. Relief, however, has been forthcoming from the Government, 13 men having been taken from Kai-. tangata during the past two or three weeks and given relief work at Allan-^ ton. „'■■•'.■ In spite of the fact that afforestation work in the Blue Mountains has definitely ceased, there has been a gradual decline throughout the last six week* ' in the number of unemployed who have registered at the Government Labour Bureau. The total number now on the roll is 131.
