DIVORCE COURT.

MANY DECREES GRANTED. With the exception of an hour which was occupied with legal argument in an adjourned civil case, the whole of yesterday was given over by his Honour Mr Justice Adams, in the Supreme Court, to the hearing of divorce petitions. There, were twenty petitions for divorce and three for restitution of conjugal rights. In Divorce. Nellie Palmer {Mr C. V. Quigley) proceeded for a divorce against Henry Leonard Palmer on the grounds of judicial separation. She had two children, sho said, and had not seen her husband since the separation in 1923, and did not know where he was. A decree nisi was granted, to. be moved absolute after three months. Interim custody of the children was given. Susan Mary Kennedy (Mr S. E. McCarthy) sought a divorce from John Robert Kennedy on the grounds of separation. Petitioner said that she had two sons and one daughter. Her husband had left New Zealand. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. Harley George William Ostler (Mr G. A. G. Connal) sought a divorce fftom Violet Lucy Ostler on the grounds of separation. Shortly after the deed of separation was executed, said thepetitioner, his wife went to Australia. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. Stanley Edmund Snow Dwight (Mr A. W. Brown) petitioned for a divorce from Edith Ruby Dwight, on the grounds of adultery, naming Walter Hurring as co-respondent. Petitioner said that his wife had admitted mis : conduct with Hurring. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. Costs were given against the co-respondent. Beatrice Doris Woods (Mr C. S. Thomas) asked for a divorce from William Stegall Woods, on the grounds of desertion. The petitioner said that she had had to maintain her children and home and had received nothing from her husband. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute' after three months. Interim custody of the children was granted. Alexander Cordelia Alice Sydney Woodhead (Mr C. S. Thomas) petition'ed for a divorce from Charles Firth Woodhead on the grounds of desertion. Petitioner said that her marriage had been an unhappy one. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. Winifred Jean Ballantyne Van Renen (Mr S. E. McCarthy) petitioned for a divorce from Charles Valentine Van Renen, otherwise Charles Valentine Kear, on the grounds of separation. Petitioner said that when she was married, respondent gave the name of Van Reuen. She was separated from her husband in 1925 and she had not heard from him since. A decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute in three months. Interim custody of the child was granted. _ Margery Ann Lambert (Mr W. J. Sim) asked for a dissolution of her marriage to James Arthur Lambert, on the grounds of desertion. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. George Henry Gardner (Mr A. W. Brown) asked for a divorce from May Edna Gardner, on the grounds of adultery, naming Claude Offwood as corespondent. Petitioner said that when he found his wife living with Offwood he assaulted the latter and Court proceedings followed. Twyneham) petitioned for a divorce from Charles William Arthur Hutchison, on the grounds of separation, and a decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute after three months, interim custody being given to the petitioner. Harry Abram Smith (Mr R. Twyneham) asked for a divorce from Ivy Smith on the grounds of desertion. Pe» i titioner said that his wife had two children before'he married her. He went to hospital with an illness, and when he came out his wife's attitude had changed towards him. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute aft«r three months. Frances Maud Gallagher (Mr . K. Twyneham) petitioned for a divorce from Joseph James Gallagher, oft the grounds of adultery. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. Alfred Kent (Mr C. S. Thomas) petitioned for a divorce from Jane Mary Kent on the grounds of adultery, naming Ernest Frank Clark as co-respond-ent. The petition was dismissed, as against the co-respondent, and a decree nisi was granted the petitioner, to be made absolute after three months. Irene Sarah Garlick (Mr K. M. Gresson) applied for a divorce from George William Matthew Garlick on the grounds of desertion. A cross-petition by the respondent, for whom Mr G. A. G. Connal appeared, was withdrawn.. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. Alice Maud Attwood (Mr G. A. G. Connal) petitioned for a divorce from Ernest J. Attwood, on the grounds of separation, and a decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. James Alsford (Mr R. A. Cuthbert) asked for a divorce from Rachel Louisa Alsford on the grounds of failure to comply with an order for the restitution of conjugal rights,, and a decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. Maud Alice Chattaway (Mr A. W. Brown) asked for a divorce from Godfrey Chattaway on the grounds of adulterv. Petitioner said that she had been living apart from her three years. She had seen her husband several times with the co-re-spondent. A decree nisi was granted, I to be made absolute in three months. | Eestitution Oases. William Timms (Mr R. Twyneham) petitioned against Doris Ellen Timms' for restitution of conjugal rights. Petitioner said that his wife's people were living in his house, and as. the result of a quarrel his wife took sides against him. He went out, and when he returned, found the house empty. A decree was made that the respondent return. William Witts Hewinson (Mr M. J. Burns) proceeded against Annie Hew- J inson (Mr W. R. Lascelles) for restitution of conjugal rights. Petitioner said that interference by his wife's relatives had caused trouble ift the home. A decree was made, to be obeyed within fourteen days after service. William McQueen (Mr 8. E. MacCartby) petitioned against Margaret

McQueen for restitution of conjugal rights. Petitioner's wife left him last yoar, he said, taking the child with her. His Honour held that there was not sufficient evidence and the petition was dismissed. Frederick James Coates (Mr J. H. Upham) was granted a decree nisi against Florence Grove Ooates, on the grounds of adultery.
