CHRISTCHURCH STOCK EXCHANGE.

Markets were lively on c*ll yesterday morning. There waß a good turnover <* stocks and business was well spread. In the stock and bond section, P® 1 cent. 1983 stock Advanced to business at £99 10a, with further buyers of the stock and bonds at £39 7s 6d, no holders offering; 24s 8d was given tor a parcel of i\ew Zealand Brewenea Bonds, market closing 24s 6d buyart, SMs 8d sellers. In the banking section, .National Bank of Australasia states were steady with turnover at £l9 5s 6d, with further buyers at £l9 ss, sellers at £l9 6s Gd— unsupported sellers of the partly paid shaies offered at £9 13s 6d. Bank of New South Wales shares wore stronger on buyers' bids £sl 10s, sellers at £sl 15s. Bank of New Zealand Mortgage shares had demand at 26s 4d, no sellers offering. Union Bank shares remained at £ls 7s 6d, and more were offered a; £ls Bs, no buyers quoting. Amongst the miscellaneous Goldsbrough Morte were firm with business at 51s 6d, buyers staying in at that price, sellers asking 51s Bd. Dalgety and Company buyers appeared at Wednesday's business figure £ls 7a 6d, sellers at £ls 10s. Canterbury Frozen Meat buyers advanced their offers to' £9 6s, without attracting sellers. Kaiapoi Woollens ordinary fully paid shares hardened to 14s, and mora wore available at that figure, buyers at 13s 7d. New Zealand Breweries shares had dealings lit 56s 4d and 55s 6d, market closing &5® 6d buyers, 55s 9d sellers. Two parcels ofTooths Brewery shares changed hands at 4Ss 9d, closing quotations 43s 8d buyers, 4Ss lid Sellers. Buyers of Beath and Oo shares moved up to 86s 6d, but no sellers quoted. Victoria Nyanza Sugar shares appeared stronger with buyers at 44s 6d, sellers at 45s Bd. Mahakipawa Goldfields shares were steady with dealings at Is 4d, and mora' wero wanted at that figure, sellers at Is Sd.
