TO-MORROWS SPEED CARNIVAL.
NEW BRIGHTON TROTTING GROUNDS. In preparation for to-morrow's motor-cycle race meeting, to be field by the Pioneer Sports Club on the New Brighton Trotting grounds, the track; after having the mower over it yeßterday morning, was well rolled in the afternoon ,and is now in first-claw order for the speed kings, and should prove both safe and fast. Large and representative entries have been received from all parts of the Dominion, and it goes without saying each event will be keenly contested* The bill of fare is as follows:—Four miles novice handicap, four miles New Brighton Trotting Club Handicap, seven miles President s Handicap, four miles Waimairi Handicap, ten miles Canterbury Handicap, eight miles Provincial Championship, eight i+• *?' handicap, and four miles Consolation Handicap A popular programme of musio will be played during the afternoon, whilst special trams will run at frequent intervals to and from the grounds. lei 1 • - e wea^"er f the meeting should prove a fitting finale to a crowded week of sport and pleasure, and should be well attended
