The monthly meeting of the Ellesmere County Council was held at Leeston on Monday, when there wore present: Crs. John Heslop' (acting-chairman), R. T. McMillan, A. Quigley, A. Anderson, and J. P. McEvedy. The acting-chairman referred to the death on the morning following the last meeting of Or. J. Cunningham, chairman of the Council, and on his motion a resolution of sympathy was carried with Mrs Cunningham and family., A welcome was extended to the new member, Cr. McMillan. Or. Heslop was elected chairman in Cr. Cunningham's place, and Or. McMillan was added <0 the Works Committee!'
