BIAHAKIPAWA GOLDFIELDS, LIMITED. Under date November sth, the mine manager reports as follows: Main South Drive—This face was advanced 22 feet and is how 49 feet south of the .starting point, or 33 feet south, of station 7; at 25 feet south of station 7 a deep „crevico running east and-.wes't was met with, ''it'37 feet the floor began to rise. At the face, it is the • sidling which crosses the drive"-on a bearing of 225 degrees; the drive had to-be turned to the west to keep it in wash. ; ,, South-east Cut—This crosscut was extended. Sfcfoet, and is now 89 feet south-east of its starting points here again the sidling was rnr- Jntp. When the two points are joined up on the plan, it shows the riverbed to lie east and west. The influence of the slip (on the «ast- side of the Valley) is now realised: _ A» the river ran duo east at this point, it is not possible yet to judge bow far the main drive will have.to go west before being turned, bact on its normal course. From the position of Jl\o. i bore the wesf sidling is not very far ahead of' the maui_ drive face, unless the .river has* l-.gen pushed further than 'expected. The gutter east and "west of the shaft was about 120 feet wide, its present width only onetliird of the distance, and the grades have been steeper than usual Two.hundred and .thirty trucks of waßb were hoisted and put through the boxes; large bonlders were prominent-,; the general character of the wash suggested that very strong currents ran when it was deposited.
