i HOTEL DAMAGED.

Fire at one o'clock this morning considerably damaged the Queen's Hotel, owned by Mr Campbell Ehrenfried, and occupied by Mr Frank Grubb. The alarm was raised by a constable who saw smoke issuing from the rear of the building. The brigade were promptly on the scene, but the flames had a good hold, ana caused considerable damage to the kitchen and three; bedrooms. Insurances are £360 on the furniture in the Liverpool and London Office, and on the building £2OOO in the New Zealand Office.
DWELLING DESTROYED.

Fire at 2 o'clock this morning com* pletely destroyed an eight-roomed wooden boarding-house owned and oocupied by James Anderson A boarder woko to find the fire well advanced, and though the brigade promptly arrived a strong wind made a ''save" impossible. The outbreak started, in the sitting-room, where a fire had been burning in the evening.
