STRAND THEATRE.

"The' Gay Retreat," starring Ted MoNamara and Sammy Cohen, Is now showing at the Strand Theatre: This it a screamingly funny farce, with, most unusual situations. It deals with Dick Wright, played by. Gene Cameron, who enlists in. the ambulance corps after being turned down by other branches of the service. His chauffeur and valet also join to Keep an eye on him and to prevent him from wandering into No Man's Land in his sleep. These two bodyguards are played by Ted '-McNamara and Sammy Cohen, who scored so sensationally as the merrymakers in "What Price Glory." Their anco in "The Gay Retreat" surpasses even their laughter-provoking acting in the great war epic. There is the Red Gross nurse, Betty Francisco, whom Dick leaves behind in his father's care, and tho beautiful French eirl played by Judy King, whom he meets overseas. Holmes Herbert is the father, and Charles Gorman takes the part of the hard, tough sergeant.
