(PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) ' CARTERTON. November 5. \ fatal accident occurred in the Featherston railway yards this moraine Frederick C. Whiterod. a shunter a"ed about forty, was engaged in backing trucks, and it is presumed that he slipped and fell, a truck passiiif over his body He was frightfuflv mutilated about the head and body Death was instantaneous. Ho leaves a widow and a family of five. An inquest will be held.
Although they have never met in person, a family in Sheerness has corresponded regularly each week with a family in North Ireland since 1855, over seventy years.
