GAY SCENES AT THE ART GALLERY.

Tho Carnival Fair organised by Sir G. Bonnet, who has been the organiser of concerts in aid of the returned'soldiers and the unemployed, presented a scene of gaiety in the Art Gallery last night. The carnival has been promoted to raise funds (1) for tho purchase of a piano for the Women's Reformatory, Addington; (2) to find work for- the unemployed; and (3) for. the benefit of the mother of the flyer, the.late Lieutenant Moncrieff. After expenses have been paid aud the piano purchased, the residue of the proceeds will be divided, three-fifths to the unemployed; and (3) for the benefit of the The committee of the unemployed is the committee of the fair. The programme last night, which was witnessed by a numerous audience, consisted of a display by Mr Charles Buckett's gymnasium pupils, ballets by the pupils of Amy Peters, and selections by the Jubilee Concert Band under Mr L; Sey. # There are several stalls and side-shows as follows: —Ice-cream, Miss Baughan; -quick lunch, Mrs Williams; sweets, Mesdames Wakefield (2); flowers, Mrs Richardson; hoop-la, Messrs N. Williams and Turnbull; quoits, Mr F. Stanton; toys, Mrs Williams; revolving dart board, Mr G. Toon; quoits, Messrs J. and S. Wakefield; Aunt Sally, Mr L. Beary; darts, Messrs 0. Dunford and S. Heyder. The fair will be continued nightly during this week, and. there will be a change of programme each night. The principal attraction to-night will be Mr Les. Corbett's Orchestra.
