CHRISTCHURCH EAST.

Mr H. T. Armstrong (Labour) addressed an enthusiastic meeting of over 400 electors at the corner of char |f s and Grafton streets last evening. Mr T. G. Webb presided. The candidate answered a number of questions, to the satisfaction of the audience, and was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. ~ ' Mr H. T. CHRISTCHURCH NORTH.

Mr H. Holland (Reform) addressed a meeting of about 60 electors at the corner of Courtenay and Westminster streets last veening. Mr G. E. Franklin presided. Mr J. Kf Archer (Labour) addressed a meeting of about 100 electors last evening at the corner of Caledonian road and Bealey avenue. The candidate received an attentive hearing, and at ine close of his address answered several questions and was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. sax Archer also addressed a meeting at tne Carlton bridge. There was an attendance of over 200 present. After the can-, didate Lad delivered his address he answered several questions, and was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence, with a few dissentients. CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH.

The hall of the Public Library was packed last night, when Mr C. S. McCully (United) gave an address to an enthusiastic fathering. Mr J. K. Moloney presided. A hearty vote of thanks was carried unanimously, the chairman stating that if was Mr McCully's wish that voters show their confidence in him on Election Day.

Last evening Mr. E. J. Howard, candidate for Christchurch South in the Labour interests, addressed two meetings, one at the corner of Leitch and Selwyn streets, where there was an attendance of 120 people, and the other at the corner of Burke and Selwyn streets, where 400 people were present. Mr F. M. Robson was chairman at both meetings, and at each the candidate was accorded votes °* tnan >" and confidence, with cheers for the Labour Party. | AVON. I . Mr D. G. Sullivan addressed a meeting of 260 people at. the corner of Batten street and Betreat road, Avonside, last evening. Mr P. W. Sharpe presided. Three hearty cheers were given for Mr Sullivan at the conclusion of the meeting, and he was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. At 8 o'clock Mr Sullivan spoke to 160 electors at the Peace Memorial Hall, North New Brighton. Mr E. A. M. Leaver presided. On the motion of Mr J. Scott, seconded by Mr B. Parker, a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence was passed to Mr Sullivan, including a special vote of thanks for the services he had rendered to New Brighton and its people during the period he had represented the district in Parliament. Gilmour at the latter meeting. Mrs E.'R. McComba (Labour) addressed a well-attended meeting in the Harewood Hall last evening. Mr G. Shipley presided. The speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Later in the evening Mm McCombs addressed a large audience in the Methodist Schoolroom, Papanui. Mr Adair presided, and on the motion of Mr E. J. Barnes, seconded, by Mr Winstanley, a vote of was carried by acclamation. TEMUKA. •Mr T. D. Burnett (Reform) addressed a largely attended meeting in the Mt. Somers Memorial Hall on Saturdayevening. Mr J. W. Comyns presided. The candidate received a very attentive hearing, and answered a number of questions. Asked if he would vote and use his influence to obtain a licensed hotel for the Mt. Somers district, he gave a negative answer. On the motion of Mr L. Nell, the candidate was accorded a vote of thanks by acclamation.

The Hinds Hall was well filled on Saturday evening when Mr Langfora (United) gave a political address a* the conclusion he answered several questions. On the motion of Mr M. *arrell, seconded by Mr A. Dtilton, a vote of thanks to the speaker and of confidence in him as a suitable candidate was carried.

Mr J. Connolly (United) is making good progress in his tour of the electorate. ' He has addressed welUattended metings at Seafield, Wakanui, bedgemere, Lakeside, Brookßide, and ruilinchy. At each place hearty votes 01 thanks were carried by acclamation.

MID-CANTERBURY.

Mr R. W. Wightman (Independent) addressed well-attended meetings at le Pirita and Mead on Friday evening He also addressed an overflowing meeting- at Rakaia on Saturday in the Town Hall. Mr B. McNamara presided. The candidate received an enthusiastic hearing and a vote of thanks at each meeting.

Mr C Morgan Williams addressed a very good audience at Hororata on Friday evening and answered a very large number of questions. Mr HOliver presided. The speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of Mr F. Barrett, seconded by Mr R. Oliver.

On Saturday night Mr Williams spoke at Glenroy. There was' a good attendance and. the speaker received a vote of thanks on the motion, of Mr J. Tizzard. seconded by Mr A. S. Thwaites. Mr G. Hunt Dresided. -
