THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
His Excellency the .Governor-General Sir Charles Fergusson, who was expected to visit Christchurch daring Carnival Week, has cancelled his visit on the recommendation of his medical adviser. His Excellency intends spending a week or ten days at The Hermitage, Mount Cook. His Excellency's private secretary has advised the Mayor (Mr J. K. Archer) that his Excellency regrets his inability to carry out the ceremony connected with the laying of the foundation stone of the Cathedral Grammar SchooL
