THE WEATHER.

Forecast. An anti-i-yclono is passing north of New Zealand, while a depression is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate and variable winds at Urst, but northerlies to. westerlies prevailing and freshening later, reaching gale force ■t exposed places south of New Plymouth and Castlepoiot; seas rather rough south of Capo Pigment and elsewhore, moderate in New Zealand waters; moderate to strong north-west wind, increasing to gale force in the eastern Tastnan Sea, with rising seas; weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain on the West Coast •oath of Cape Egraont, elsewhere fair to cloudy, but coming more unsettled generally shortly, with some rain in most districts.
