LATE MR JAMES REID.
> REFERENCES AT PRESBYTERY. Reference was made at yesterday's meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery to the death of Mr James Reid, Altaian's road, by the Moderator (the Rev. T. W. Armour), who said that a faithnil member of Presbytery had passed away. The late Mr Reid was a nephew of the late Mr B. Hay, who landed in the Peninsula in the early days, and thus was in touch with the very beginnings of the province of Canterbury. The late Mr Reid not only led an exemplary life but was also a man of the utmost Christian conviction and full of service. He had been a most loyal and faithful member of Knox Church f6r many years, and was a convinced Presbyterian, and cherished the welfare of the Church.
