Springston, at Xtunsandel. ; It was decided t>- play the match against Canterbury Colts on Labour, Day, at Doyleston,. and' that 'the first "match for the SubAssociation's Shield, against Malvern, on November 21st and 22n.1, " should be played at Dunsandel. IRWELL CLUB. At the annual meeting ot the Irwell Cricket Clnb the report stated that the club had finished third in the competition, fou members (P. Chamberlain, J. Chamberlain, W. Doak, and J. had gained representative honours. The 'finances showed a credit of -£3 7s 6d. The bat offered by L. B. Coe for the highest batting average- had been won by J. Coe, with an average of 40.2,. and W. Doak had headed the bowling averages, taking 49 wickets at an average cost of 9.3 rans. The following officers were elected:—Patron,. Hon. Sir B. Beaton Rhodes, UX.O.; president, Mr John Heslop, *en.; viee-presi-dents, Messrs B.T. McMillan,'H. Gardiner, IT. A. Stephens, D. McGregor, and E. Win-_ L ter;' captain, Mr A. P. Chamberlain; vice-* captain, Mr. W. Doak; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Coe; selection committee, the 'captain, vice-captain, and Mr L. B. Coe; delegates to Sab-Association, Messrs L. B. Coe and J.. Coe. It was .decided to enter- one team fat . the competition, and to open the season. on the Saturday preceding the commencement of the competition. Mr L. B. Coe again offered the use of his ground, and also offered a bat for the highest batting average, the previous year's winner to -be barred. His offers were accepted'with thanks.
