♦ THREE MEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TBLEGEAM.) ELTHAM, August_27. In the Magistrate's Court on Friday and Saturday further charges of theft and conspiracy against members oi Newton King, Ltd.'s Kaponga branch were heard before Justices. There were eleven charges of theft against Hector Harley Henderson, involving £463, extending over four years from May, 1924, five theft charges against Morgan Whittaker Priest, totalling £9B, and five against James Harold Adam, totalling £9O. The three accused were charged jointly with conspiring fraud Newton, King, Ltd.. of £1419 in April, 1926, arid £1219 in April, 1927. Alternative charges concerning the same offences were laid against Henderson and Priest., • -., . Accused pleaded not guilty, reserved their defence, and were committed for trial in September at the Supreme Court, New Plymouth. Bail was allowed.
