OBITUARY.
MR ARTHUR STEDMAN. The death is announced from Aucki land, at the age of 76, of Mr Arthur' Stedman, third son of the late Dr. Stedman, M.D., of Ohristchurch. . Mr Arthur Stedman was for many years in the service of the Bank of New South Wales, and after managing Various branches, was appointed manager at Ohristchurch, from which post he retired about eleven years'ago and settled in Auckland. Mr Stedman leaves a widow and four sonsMessrs A. L. Stedman (accountant, Auckland), N. Stedman (Auckland), Q. Stedman (Hawera), and R. Stedman (Wellington). Mr Arthur Stedman was well known in'banking and business circles in Christchurch. .He wtis educated at Christ's College and was an esteemed member of " the' Anglican Church and for some years served as a sidesman in the Cathedral. ■ ■ : I. MR J. THOMAS. (PBESS ABSOCIATIOK TEIiEGBAII.) DUNEDIN, July 30: The death is announced of Mr John Thomas, aged 84, a veteran enginedriver. He brought out the first Fairlie, locomotive l in 1872, and drove the first Port Chalmerß-Dnnedin train in 1873, with the engine Josephine! Later Mr Thomas had continuous footplate service with New Zealand express engines until his rotiiement in 1907. MR NORRIS CONRADI. (PEESS 4.SSOCTATIOIT TBLEOBAM.) DUNEDIN, July 20. 'The death occurred at His horn®, Caversham, to-day, of Mr Norman Con* radii a well-kiiown local cricketer. Mr Conradi was born in Melbourne! and before coming to Dnnedin about 1° years ago, resided in Christchurch, where he was a member of the Sydenham Cricket Club. Mr Conradi was a member of the Grange Club in Dnnedin, and was several times selected to represent Otago. He was manager or the* firm, Cycle and Motor Supplies, Ltd. Mr Conradi, who was. 32 years of •age, is survived by his widow and one son.
