RUSH OF APPLICANTS FOR RELIEF.
MANY GIFTS RECEIVED
Those in' charge of the various unemployed relief depots throughout the City are working at high pressure, for the applications for relief have been incessant. Inded, at the central depot in Bedford row, there is always a queue waiting from 9.30 a.m., although the depot does not open until the afternoon. So far there have been oiO applicants at the Central Depot while the depots at St. Albans and Sydenham have also' been very busy—in fact, the number of applications is increasing all the time. A new depot is to be opened at Linwood about Wednesday, and a shop ha* been taken at the corner of Armagh street and Stanmore road for this mirpose. Hundreds of people have given donations in cash and in kind, and the following is a list of donors other than those already acknowledged:—26 Anonymous, Mrs Rees.
