RUGBY UNION. OLD BOYS V. 'VARSITY. To-day's Oval game should provide thrilling Rugby, and as both teams are unbeaten, great interest is being taken in the match. 'Varsity are slightly the favourites, many people thinking that their forwards will be hard to beat, especially if the going is heavy. Old Boys have many admirers, and can always be relied upon to play attractively. An even game is anticipated, and whichever team wins it is certain that there will be much excitement. On the south ground another even game should result from the meeting of Linwood and Merivale. Linwood have played very well on the south ground this season, and will no doubt fully extend the Blues. Albion and Christchurch are set down to meet one another on the west ground, and this match also should provide interesting football. At the Show Grounds two Senior B games, Christchurch v. Old Collegians, and Sydenham v. Albion, are set down for decision. Monday's Big Game. A very attractive fixture has been arranged for Monday next, at Lancaster Park, when Canterbury's best players will be seen in action in a trial match. The A team have such fine'hacks as Harris, Oliver, Cliesley, and Hay, with good forwards in Godfrey, Jackson, Manihera, and Clark. The Ji team are strong in the forwards, the stars being the Robinson brothers. Pickering, and Porkins. They have a good back division. the best known of whom are Pago. Grant, and Robilliard. In view of the Ranfurly Shield pa mo against Wairarapa, this match should bo of great interest to the public. SENIOR B TRIAL MATCH.
