GRAND THEATRE.
The picture version of Warwick Dec-ping's famous novel. "Sorrell and Son," is running yet another successful season at the (jnind Theatre. The screen version of the book is a masterpiece, and shows to perfection the study of the relationship between father and son, when they are "real pals." Herbert Brenon, the producer, lias set a higher standard for the film manufacturer than he did in "Beau Uesle." The story is a strong one, and is a powerful indictment against the selfishness of any nation which leaves ex-sol-diers to starve when peace is proclaimed and military life gives way to civilian. The story of ex-Captain Sorrell is a manly and imlifl'ii-r one. The cast is a perfectly-bal-anced one. and 11. B. Warner's characterisation of Captain Sorrell is a magnificent study. Never has Warner given a belter performance! than llus one. Xils Aster, the Swrdish aclor, gives a clever characterisation of the son in early manhood, Norman Trevor has a splendid role which he interprets in his usual artistic manner, and Anna Nilsson. Alice Joyce, and Carmel Myers also give excellent portrayals of their parts. The supporting films are. interesting and well-varied. >
