Amery (Colonial Secretary), answering questions, said he was aware that two ex-Governors of West Africa Colonies had obtained diamond and platinum concessions on the Gold Coast. It was obviously undesirable that ex-Governors should undertake commercial activities immediately they relinquished their office, but where, as here, a long period of years had intervened, it would obviously be absurd to impose restrictions. Unemployment in U.S.A. Sydney, March 13.—The State Cabinet has decided to convene a conference of parties interested in the unemployment question, with the object of ascertaining the cause of unemployment and of seeking a solution of the problem. Two Men Browned.
