Ex-Governors' Rights. London, March 12.—In'the House of Commons, Mr L. S. Amery (Colonial Secretary), answering questions, said he was aware that two ex-Governors of West Africa Colonies had obtained diamond and platinum concessions on the Gold Coast. It was obviously undesirable that ex-Governors should undertake commercial activities immediately they relinquished their office, but where, as here, a long period of years had intervened, it would obviously be absurd to impose restrictions. Unemployment in U.S.A. Sydney, March 13.—The State Cabinet has decided to convene a conference of parties interested in the unemployment question, with the object of ascertaining the cause of unemployment and of seeking a solution of the problem. Two Men Browned. Rugby, March 12.—1n the course of the fierce weather during the weekend two firemen were drowned by the overturning of their skiff in a buzzard in the Kyles of Bute, a narrow arm of the Firth of Clyde. Fall from Great Pyramid. Cairo, March 13. —A hundred- tourists in the neighbourhood of the Great Pyramid, hearing a shriek, saw a man tumble-from the top to the bottom. He was picked up dead, and identified as Constable Eeed, of the British Gendarmerie, of Palestine.
