Miss Edna Davey, the swimming champion, has notified the Olympic Selection Committee that she will not be able to make the, trip, as no chaperon has been appointed. She is the only woman chosen. The secretary of the Australian ' Olympic Council says he has no official notification of Miss Edna Davey's reported withdrawal from the team. He added that the Council always intended to appoint a chaperon. The reason no appointment had yet been made wag that the Council was waiting to learn the final composition of the team. It funds permitted, Misses Mealing, Thompson,- and Robinson, the lastnamed the 100 yards running champion of New. South Wales, would be Included.
