TRAMWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the Christchurch Tram way Boa/d was held yesterday after noon, Mr John Wood presiding.
The Under-Secretary of the Public Works Department advised that the Department could not promise as yet what amounts would be granted for unemployment relief works, but that in the meantime £l5O would be allowed the Board, on a £ for £ subsidy basis, for work already done.
The Board received two applications for donations, one from the St. John Ambulance Association, the other from the St. John Ambulance Brigade. It was decided that the practice of former years be followed, viz., a £2O grant to the St. John Ambulance Association on the understanding that half of the amount is devoted to the Brigade section of the work.
Accounts amounting to £9494 13s 2d were approved for payment.
